Carnival Day was such a fun day. We dressed up in brightly coloured clothes, watched the film 'Rio', ate hotdogs and tomato sauce, played games such as tin can alley, danced, ran through the sprinkler, popped bubbles from the bubble machine and had jungle animal tattoos We finished off with a huge ice cream from the ice cream van.

The Life Cycle of a Duck
Nursery have really enjoyed learning about life cycles and have been so lucky to watch five little ducklings hatch. The eggs kept warm in an incubator and then the ducklings stayed in a large cage. Every day we helped Mrs Platt clean the cage and gave them fresh food and water. We all held them and even watched them play in water and run around Nursery Platt's classroom. They are now going back to the farm to be with their Mummy and Daddy.

Today Ian from Druhm visited. We each had a tub with a space - hopper turned upside down in it and a pair of drum sticks. Ian played some music and we followed his rhythm and sequence of beats. Ian wants us to create our own beat and rhythm in everyday life to help us connect with people. He wants to help us break down barriers and give us confidence to tackle life, whether it be in the classroom or in our workplace when we are older. He wants to help us ‘FIND OUR BEAT’.It was such good fun!

Pancake Day
Today we celebrated 'Pancake Day'. We made pancake batter and each 'tossed/flipped' a pancake'. We thought this was very funny, especially when Mrs Platt's fell on the floor. We then chose what topping we would like on the pancake before we ate it. They were delicious. Most of us ended us with chocolate around our mouths. In mathematics we completed a pictogram graph to see which was our favourite topping. We noticed that the lemon and sugar was the least favourite with only three children choosing it. We also read the books 'The Big Pancake' which is similar to The Gingerbread Man and Mr Wolf's Pancakes.
