Mrs Clay & Mrs Kirkpatrick
Multi-cultural day 15.7.22
What a wonderful day we had at RHS Bridgewater! We learnt a lot about plant reproduction, enjoyed looking at the gardens and had great fun playing in the woods.
And when it rains at RHS Bridgewater, what is there better to do than find shelter and put on an impromptu performance!
We have really enjoyed our music sessions with Mr Johnson, delving into our focus song - Dancing in the Streets.
We hope you enjoy this video (as much as we do) of our final performance!!
We really enjoyed our D&T bread topic, which resulted in baking 60 Tudor loaves to take home, that were DELICIOUS!
What great fun we had when Drumz Aloud came to school. So much exercise, rhythm and laughter!
We have been working on gymnastics routines and trying to work together as a team to balance, jump and turn. Only a couple of years away until we’re ready for the Olympics!
In gymnastics, we have been working on bridges and balances. It’s been tricky, but our skills are improving weekly.
We had so much fun at our party. We watched a film together and then took part in lots of dancing in the classroom.
After that we played party games and then enjoyed a delicious buffet. Thanks parents for your generous donations of food.
We were very lucky to travel to St Mary’s church, where Mrs Owen and her team of volunteers shared with us, the Christmas Experience. We learned all about the preparation, journey and message of Christmas.
In Design and Technology, we designed and built tribal huts - this was linked to our Amazon learning. We learnt how to use a saw and how to create structures that were sturdy and strong. I think you’ll agree, we’ve done a great job!
Thursday 11th November
This afternoon in PSHE, we learnt about how important it is to respect other people’s point of view. To do this, we found out about debates and then held some in the classroom. Watch our videos to find out more.
There was so much teaching and learning going on between pupils today. Long multiplication is hard, but teamwork made the dream work!
We loved taking part in world mental health day. We had a really fun assembly with lots of singing, meditation, laughter and fun and all of our hearts were warmed when we wrote positive and kind comments about each other for our ‘I’m great’ pots.
We are lucky to have Edstart teaching us PE this term, especially as it is their Wellbeing Through Sport programme, so we are learning lots of important life skills, whilst also enjoying PE.
We were lucky to have brilliant workshop in Year 5, to introduce our new topic of BArzil, with lot of acting and fun.
All settled in and happy at work!
Welcome to Year 5
What a wonderful, smiley bunch! We are all excited to begin a new school year together.
