School Council

What happens on School Council?

Pupils are elected to be school council members by their peers through a vote. Then they meet with Miss Bailey once a half term to talk about what changes they would like to see at school. They also discuss the positive things happening in school and what new things they like too.

School council members also speak to their peers and the rest of the class to get some ideas of what they can do within school and then these ideas are shared during our meetings.

After that, they meet with Mr Platt or other relevant staff members to share ideas and the school council pupils lead this.

In recent years, changes driven by school council have included more sandwich options at lunchtimes, football nets for KS2 children on the playground and a dry surface to be put down around the KS2 Tyre Park.

They all also receive a shiny blue council member badge!
