What we've been doing in class

Summer Term 2021

We had an hour of sunshine in May so we went outside to rehearse our plays.

Spring 2021

 

Spring 2021 has been really unusual due to another lockdown. We have had some children in school and some at home. All  the children have been working hard but have been thrilled to return to school this week.

March 8th Hooray. We are back at school.

We celebrated World Book Day on the 4th March. Our pupils shared books, listened to stories, made posters and made reading dens.

4Du always produce some excellent pictures and the pupils enjoyed doing Art during lockdown as it gave them a break from the computer screen.

Landscapes

The children have really enjoyed their final week in school. They have had a party, a film with hot chocolate, a lower junior quiz, entertainment from Mr Houghton and Mr Johnson and a rather muddy but enjoyable robin hunt.

We enjoyed our topic all about electricity.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The pupils had to apply their multiplication and division skills and try to find six different solutions.

Our Christingle Service

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Last week, we celebrated Rememberance Day in school.  Miss Lea played The Last Post and we all planted a poppy in the school grounds. The children told me about relatives who had fought in the war.

Samba Sessions

 

We have been enjoying our music sessions and learning all about the beat and the rhythm. The children are enjoying playing on the samba drums.

Autumn 1

The pupils are enjoying listening to the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and they have done some really good work describing different settings. We have been working on place value in Maths and have done lots of work ordering numbers, using more than and less than and rounding numbers. The pupils have started their topic on Ancient Greece and have been learning all about different historical events. In Science we have been learning all about teeth and the digestive system.  

Recently the pupils have enjoyed playing games in French.
