What we've been doing in class
A Very Special Trip
We went to St Mary's church in Ellenbrook to learn why a church is a special place for some people.
After a very exciting ride in the school minibus, our first outing in it, we arrived at our destination. Mrs Owen and some of her special friends were there to meet us.
We learned about the different areas of the church and some of the features there. Finally, we made our own wishes or blessings, which we then tied to the railings outside of the church.
We had a wonderful morning and were very grateful to Mrs Owen and her friends for showing us around the church. Sam said it was the best trip ever!
All Creatures Great and Small.
We have been learning about 'Living Things and Their Habitats'. We ventured out onto the school grounds with clipboards and magnifying glasses in hand to see what we could see 👀.
Christmas
2R have had a fantastic few weeks in school in the lead up to Christmas. We have performed our nativity, painted Christmas decorations, made hot chocolate reindeers, reindeer food and Christmas biscuits. We also had a visit from some cheeky reindeer who destroyed our classroom! Take a look at some of the photos below!
Sophia said " My favourite part of the nativity was the song where the sheep run away."
Xavier said "I enjoyed making the hot chocolate reindeers."
Nora said "I had lots of fun at the party."
English
We had a very special visitor today to school. Traction Man sent Scrubbing Brush as he needed our help writing instructions on how to look after him. We wrote some fantastic instructions that will hopefully help Traction Man look after Scrubbing Brush correctly!
History
In history this week we learned about Emmeline Pankhurst and the Sufragettes. We learnt about how she formed the group and fought for equal rights for women. What made her extra special is she was from Manchester. Look at our video where we made posters and had our own protest.

Maths
In maths this week we have been learning about money. We have been shopping at Rowlands' supermarket and adding up how much our shopping would cost. It has been lots of fun.
DT
In DT we have designed and made our own healthy snacks. Firstly we tasted different healthy foods to see which foods we wanted to use in our design. Then we researched different healthy snacks before designing and making our own. Can you guess what we have made?
English
In English we have used our imagination to write our own wonderland poems. Here are some of the children reading their poems.
