What we've been doing in class
DT - Pouches
In Design and Technology, we have been learning how to attached two pieces of fabric together by using a running stitch. First, we had to learn to thread a needle, which some of us found hard so we used needle threaders. Then, we practised our sewing by making stitches that were all similar sizes to each other. Next, we designed our own pouches. After that, we used a template to draw the front and back before cutting out the felt and sewing the pieces together. Finally, we decorated our pouches using colours of felt and fabric pens.
It's Red Nose Day!
We had a great time supporting comic relief!
Art - Clay Tiles
In art we have been learning about different textures and how we can use tools to recreate the textures in clay. We looked at different styles of houses and then created our own clay tiles to represent a house of our own design by pressing in to the clay as well as using slip to add extra sections of clay on top.
Druhm!
We have great fun at the drumming workshop with Druhm! We learnt how to drum to the beat of the music and how to move in time with the rhythm.

World Book Day!
We had a brilliant time on World Book Day! We loved dressing up as our favourite characters from stories and we shared our books with each other. The best part was when we went to Year 6 to read to them and they read to us too!
Science - Food sorting
In science we have been learning about humans and what we need to keep ourselves healthy. As part of our work, we looked at different types of food and though about how we could sort them into different groups.
It's Christmas!!!
We loved performing our Christmas play. We learnt lots of songs and dances and had a great time! We had some amazing costumes too!
D.T.
In D.T. we have been learning about different types of structures. We investigated which shapes were the strongest and the most stable and then we made a chair for baby bear using just paper and tape! Look at our wonderful creations!
Hello Yellow!
We celebrated World Mental Health day by wearing yellow, learning about Doodle Boy and having a go at doodling ourselves. It was great fun and made us very happy!
History - Votes for Women!
In History, we have been learning about people who fought for what they believed in, Nelson Mandela, Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole and Emmeline Pankhurst. We had great fun making posters and going on a "Votes for Women" march - Deeds not words!
New to Year 2!
All looking brilliant in our new uniforms. Excited and ready for the year ahead!
