Chinese Food Tasting
We tried some noodles using chopsticks and they were really tricky to eat with. We then tried prawn crackers and some of us even dipped them into Sweet chilli sauce which was a little bit 'spicy'.
Chinese dance class
We took part in a Chinese dance class where we listened to Chinese music and then learnt lots of dance moves to accompany the music. We especially enjoyed the dragon dance.
Chinese New Year Activities
Whilst we have been learning about Chinese New Year we have also been reading about The Great Race and the animals which take part. We have learnt about the Lunar moon and know that this year is the year of the horse. We have also learnt that red is a lucky colour and made Chinese lanterns and money wallets. We decorated the wallets with the Chinese name of our chosen animal. We really enjoyed dressing up in traditional Chinese clothes and held a special Chinese New Year assembly where we told the story of The Great Race and performed a Chinese song.
