DUCKS
This term, our classroom has been home to a very special project—duck eggs! Carefully placed in an incubator, the eggs gave the children a unique, hands-on opportunity to observe the early stages of life up close. Each day brought excitement as we monitored temperature, checked progress, and eagerly anticipated the moment of hatching.
When the ducklings finally began to emerge, it was a truly magical experience. Watching them hatch, dry off, and take their very first wobbly steps created a sense of wonder and curiosity throughout the class. The journey didn’t end there—the children continued to care for and observe the ducklings as they grew, learning about their development, needs, and behaviours.
This project has not only been adorable and memorable, but also an enriching way to explore science, responsibility, and the natural world in action.
