Ducks

We have been learning about the life cycle of a duck and had a very 'hands-on' approach this term when we had our very own duck eggs hatch in nursery. The eggs arrived in an incubator, and we watched patiently until the first egg hatched. In total, we had 3 eggs hatch and could see the ducklings use their 'egg tooth' to crack the eggs.  Once the ducklings had dried off they were able to go into a cage with a heat lamp. After a week, we were able to each hold the ducklings before they went back to the farm.
