Junior and Mini Duke Awards

We have lots of pupils who are working towards achieving these Duke of Edinburgh awards. They meet weekly to discuss what has to be done and then work at home to complete activities. It is a fantastic scheme and we think it will definitely produce some leaders of the future!

Young Leaders Award-The Archbishop of York Youth Trust

Our previous year 5 and year 6 pupils have been involved in this award and we hope to be able to offer this again when we can. The Young Leaders Award is a unique active citizenship programme designed to enhance and form part of the school curriculum. It offers an exciting opportunity for pupils to:

• Engage in new learning experiences
• Grow in leadership, character and key life skills
• Discover the benefits of helping others

As part of the award pupils are empowered to ‘Be the change you want to see’, taking action and serving others through different challenges. Pupils take part in:

• Personal challenges to help others in small ways
• School challenges to practice leadership skills
• Community Action Projects in their local area

At the end of the programme pupils are awarded certificates for their hard work and effort.
